Laundry Care

Your clothes will receive high-quality care. Clothes are washed in cold water with your choice of detergent and fabric softener. Colors and whites are separated to prevent bleeding. Clothes are dried on low heat to maintain quality. Throughout our cleaning process, we inspect your clothes in additional quality control checks to ensure your clothes are clean.

We use either scented or hypoallergenic detergent, with or without fabric softener. After you place your order, we will send out a form for you to choose your detergent preferences. You can update your preferences by emailing us at rezlaundry@studentholdings.org

Experienced laundry professionals at our premium cleaning partner care are trained to care for your clothes.

We will do our best! Just place a piece of paper in your laundry bag detailing the clothing item and additional instructions.

Unfortunately, we are not able to handle items that require hand-washing or dry cleaning, so it’s best to leave those items out of your bag.

Pickup and Delivery

Next-day delivery is part of our guarantee! Just drop it off and it’ll be back in your hands in no time.

We will pick up laundry in the lobby of your residence hall or sorority house. Just make sure to put it in one of our specialized bags and drop it off by 11:00 am on the day of your pickup.

Each load is 15 lbs. Most students do not go over this limit, but in the event that this is the case you will be charged an additional per pound fee.

Lost/Missing Items

We will take excellent care of your clothes, but in the rare chance that something is lost or damaged, we’re prepared. Just let us know and we’ll refund you according to our insurance policy.

Northwestern Residential Life

Welcome and congratulations! Luckily, there are tons of resources to help you get started.

  • Look through Northwestern’s official Housing Brochure for statistics about living on campus and a brief overview of all university-provided housing options
  • Visit the Northwestern Student Life page for information about extracurricular activities and campus security
  • Check out our Wildcat Days FAQ for answers to popular questions about Northwestern residential life
  • For any remaining questions, refer to the Northwestern Residential Services website

North by Northwestern’s Housing Guide is the most up-to-date guide to Northwestern undergraduate housing, with textual descriptions, photos, videos, and testimonials from current students. You can also filter by campus location and freshman-only options to help facilitate your search.

You can find a Northwestern packing list on the Northwestern Residential Services website.

Yes. Northwestern Residential Services has a list of items that are prohibited in the residence halls in their list of suggested items to pack.

No need to worry if you’ve ordered through Rez! As trusted on-campus provider since 2013, all RezEssentials products meet Northwestern’s guidelines.

There are dining halls in five of the residence halls: Hinman, Allison, Elder, Sargent, and Foster-Walker. Each dining hall features an all-you-can-eat buffet that changes daily, a salad bar, dessert options, and fresh fruit. Non-dining hall options include six restaurants and cafes, two convenience stores, and the Norris University Center. Norris University Center has many restaurants and helped Northwestern get ranked 5th for Best College for Food in America!

You are allowed to leave the dining halls with food in take-out boxes that the university provides. It is very convenient to bring food from the dining hall back to your room to store in a mini-fridge (which you can purchase from our Shop).

Check out Northwestern Dining’s official page for more information.

Many students on the 14 Meal plan eat lunch and dinner in the dining halls, but do not have enough meal swipes to eat breakfast or to grab snacks in between classes from the dining halls. (Of course, the specific distribution of meal swipes varies by person.)

Because most dining halls close at 8pm during the week and don’t open until 10 or 11AM on weekends, many students benefit from stocking their mini-fridges in their rooms with snacks or take-out meals.

There are a Whole Foods and CVS on South Campus, and D&D Finer Foods on North Campus. Trader Joe’s and Jewel Osco are about 1.5 miles from South Campus.

The convenience stores on campus also offer similar products to grocery stores, like chips, drinks, Ramen packets etc.
